“Fiscal Cliff” put in a much better perspective.

“Fiscal Cliff” put in a much better perspective.

Lesson # 1:

U.S. Tax revenue:$ 2,170,000,000,000
Fed budget:$ 3,820,000,000,000
New debt:$ 1,650,000,000,000
National debt: $16,271,000,000,000
Recent budget cuts: $38,500,000,000

Let’s now remove 8 zeros and pretend it’s a household budget:

Annual family income:$ 21,700
Money the family spent:$ 38,200
New debt on the credit card:$ 16,500
Outstanding balance on the credit card:$162,710
Total budget cuts so far: $38.50

What do YOU think is the problem?

  1. I’ve got to say, I’m seeing this banner on the side with Obamas face saying “He’s rich and successful. Tac him!!!”

The funny thing is, he *asked* to be taxed more. With the presidents salary at 400k a year, he literally asked to be taxed more when he asked everyone making 250k a year or less to be taxed more. The Republicans wouldn’t let him tax himself anymore though when they wouldn’t go lower than 400k a year on the population facing tax increases.

Oh, the irony – and stupidity of whoever made that banner.

    • Alex,
Sometime, somewhere, someone will explain to you how much of a Ted Baxter you really are. Smile away, man. Damn those torpedoes! You are absolutely without clue.
